Gedling Borough Council has asked us to share information regarding Storm Christoph and what you can do to prepare for it if you are at risk:
The Met Office have issued an Amber warning of rain expecting to fall over the next few days due to Storm Christoph.
The council’s emergency Incident Management Team have met and are implementing our flooding emergency plan. The forecast is improving for the area but there’s still a risk that the flooding could be similar to the ones that took place in Feb 2020.
We are sharing key information from the Environment Agency and Nottinghamshire County Council, who are the lead responder to flooding. We will be sharing their updates across our social media accounts and through our email newsletter.
We have contacted businesses on our Business Support email list and advised them to prepare for flooding. We have also sent an email to residents signed up to our Latest News and our Service Disruption newsletters (14,600 subscribers)
We are also checking our usual hotpots including the lagoon at Bentwell Avenue and all of our grids and maintenance areas.
